Legendary for its surf, welcoming atmosphere and stunning scenery, Bali brings ideas of paradise evocatively to mind, enveloping its visitors with its feeling of friendliness and seemingly endless sunshine.
Visitors can enjoy some of the best surfing imaginable with opportunity to learn from talented instructors, so for those who have never tried it before you can feel relaxed and comfortable when surfing the waves. The diving in Bali is also excellent, and the water stocked with plenty of tropical sea creatures. Aside from the beaches, inland, the island is just waiting to be explored. There’s botanic gardens, volcanic hiking trails and ancient monuments you must see to believe. Stunning hillside temples such as Pura Luhur Batukau let you really experience the spirit of this island, while Ubud is the cultural center point defined by its artists, dancers, daily temple festivals and craftspeople.
Just as inspired as its land and people, is its food. Balinese cooking uses an array of spices with distinct dishes that are plenty in seafood and rice, naturally. In Bali and around the world you can try some of its main staples such as Bebek Betutu, which is duck stuffed with spices, the mixed rice Nasi Goreng and the fried bananas Pisang Goreng. Eat out or shop at one of the local food markets and spend a relaxed afternoon trying your hand at these Balinese classics.
Bali is located just south of the equator, so visitors can expect a tropical, warm and slightly humid climate throughout the year. It has two distinctive seasons known as the dry season and the rainy season. The best time to visit is April through June and September through October as it is still dry season and slightly less humid. Those months are also the best time for water sport activities such as scuba diving, surfing and snorkeling.
Though there may be two distinct seasons, a trip to Bali any month of the year is sure to bring happiness and pure enjoyment during your stay.
